online protection thats always on

Netintelligence lets you decide what you want your family to view when they are surfing the Internet. Through the easy to use Central Control Panel, you have the ability to determine which types of web sites you do, and do not, want you family to access.

You can use Netintelligence’s 6 default categories - Adult, Drugs, Gambling, Gaming, Hate, Threats - or you can create your own Lists. These lists can contain web sites that you want to block, want to allow access and these can be applied on an individual user basis. All changes you make to a personal list take effect in less than a minute!

Netintelligence has made web blocking simple. To date, the Netintelligence Assessment Team have categorised over 30 million inappropriate web sites, files and images, in our central Netintelligence databases, into 6 main ‘threat’ categories. Using a combination of techniques and sources, the team is constantly updating the databases - 24 hours per day, 7 days per week - ensuring you that have the best protection possible.

The following definitions cover most, but not all, of the sub-categories which make up our six “blocked” categories. Web sites which clearly can not be “trusted” in nature, and which do not fit neatly into any of the sub categories are automatically placed in the “Threats” category by default.

Adult Pornographic sites
Sites featuring nudity and/or sexuality; “adult” underwear and role-playing apparel; games, humour and literature sites with overtly adult content; personals/dating/romance; art featuring nudity or explicit sexuality; sex education.

Drugs Sites

Gambling Bookmakers and casinos (online and offline)
Gambling machines (fruit machines, roulette, etc.); gambling resource and information sites

Gaming
Online gaming groups; gaming resources; interactive puzzles; role-playing games; video games; coin-operated games

If you only want certain members of your family to have very restricted internet access e.g. only allow them access web sites that you have determined as safe and appropriate, you can create a totally Safe Internet Zone for them. You simply add the addresses (URLs) of the web sites to that user’s Personal Safe Internet list and that’s it! They can only visit those sites until you determine otherwise.

Netintelligence provides detailed analysis of the time, date, duration and with whom members of your family have been chatting using Instant Messenger. As well as providing a top level view, you can also drill down and actually see on line transcripts of the ‘conversations’ that took place.

With Netintelligence's easy to use Time Controls you can set limits on when your family use both the computer and the internet. This feature allows you to set limits on their usage in half hour blocks - perfect if you're worried that the kids are spending too long playing the latest computer game or if you use Pay as You Go Broadband! You can even vary the usage for different days of the week. So you may allow them longer access at the weekend and shorter access during the weekdays - ensuring that they concentrate on their homework! And don't forget that you can set these limits from any pc using your on line Control Centre - so you rest assured that the family are not abusing your rules even whilst you are at work.

Worried your kids are spending too much time on the computer?  Need to keep your pay-as-you-go broadband bills down?

Netintelligence’s Time Controls let parents dictate when and for how long their family can use both the internet and the computer itself.  Usage is broken down into half hour blocks and the limits can be varied for different days of the week, meaning you can allow kids longer access at the weekend when they have less homework and more time to enjoy the latest computer games!

The Time Controls feature puts an end to those tricky parent-child stand-offs that often occur when kids are told to shut down their PC.  With Netintelligence, users are logged off automatically as soon as their time’s up, with no negotiation possible.

And don’t forget that you can set these limits from any PC using the online Control Center. The kids will have no choice but to follow your rules, even when you’re at work!

Netintelligence Home Edition is considered an End Point software solution, which simply means a piece of software that physically resides at the end of a network - in this case, on your home computer at the end of a broadband network. Because the software is actually installed on your computer, it is ideally placed to constantly monitor all of the interaction between a user with the computers processes & applications.

In effect, Netintelligence acts as a 'guardian' on your computer. It is designed to monitor, take action and then report. For example, when you set web site blocking rules for your children, you are simply telling the guardian to note their activity, and if it sees them visiting a web site that you do not want them to - take action and prevent them doing so.

Some of the rules that the 'guardian' will follow, are predetermined by Netintelligence - anti virus, or harmful websites for example - but most of them are set by you, via the online Control Centre. In order to determine whether these rules have changed or have been updated, the Netintelligence software constantly communicates to our Central Databases. The software is programmed to ‘talk’ to the databases at least once every minute. As well as receiving its new instructions, the 'guardian' will also deposit the information it has gathered from your computer in this time with the databases. This information is then processed and made available for you in the form of online reports, via the online Control Centre.
